Thanksgiving Day Blessings: New Family

I am thankful for New Family. In May, I will be marrying the love of my life, and in return, will gain a new husband, stepson, papa-in-law, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law as well as a ton of aunts, uncles, and cousins. I already feel like they are my family, but will be glad to make it official. My girls will also be gaining the family, too. They already say that Ronnie is their brother and claim both Papa and Memaw.

I am especially thankful for my new husband. We’ve known each other nearly our entire lives, but were merely classmates and not really friends and definitely not lovie loves! Jason is incredible. He is kind and forgiving. He loves hard and fights hard. He is loyal and independent. He is also such a hardworking man who takes pride in his job and does it well. He is mean as a snake and gentle as a lamb. He loves sports even more than I do. He’s a bit obnoxious (by “bit” I mean super duper incredibly) when it comes to his teams and can’t stand to lose. He can’t stay mad at me which I use to my advantage all of the time. He is completely stubborn and can be such a baby, but is very much a mature responsible man. He never uses his past as an excuse but a reason to move forward. He is raising and taking over responsibility for two little girls who aren’t biologically his own. That speaks more than volumes about the amazing man who will soon be at the end of the aisle on May 16.

I am beyond blessed to have such an amazing New family. We have grown as a couple and as a unit so much over the past two years. Jason, I can’t wait to grow old with you… if only to prove to you that the Cowboys will not win another Super Bowl before the 49ers. And hopefully to see a decent Braves team. I can’t wait to have new adventures in marriage and parenting. I can’t wait to have a child/children with you. I can’t wait to spend our retirement traveling the world with you. You are my best friend. I can’t wait to be your wife and make our new family official.

And of course! THE RING!

If you haven’t had the chance to link up to our linky party Mommy Needs a Timeout Thursday, you can do so below! Party is on until Friday 8pm EST! Can’t wait to see your posts!
